We gathered here today to share our ways of spending holidays. Here are what the four of us like to do, and you can try one out of the list!
Highly Subjectively Chosen 3 Best Romantic Christmas Movies to Stream During Cold Winter Nights
By J
Everyone has a favorite Christmas movie. In my family, we’ve made it a holiday tradition to gather around the television on Christmas Eve and watch Home Alone(1990). Even though I’ve watched it countless times, year after year, it never fails to put me in the holiday spirit. While the film that tops your personal list may not be up for debate, I’m here to offer a few new additions to your annual holiday movie marathon queue that will add a little extra holly to your jolly.
With all of the options out there, I made the effort to narrow down the absolute best Christmas movies of all time that are sure to keep your holiday season merry and bright.
These movies essentially function as emotional "time machines," allowing us to reconnect with positive memories and experience a sense of comfort and belonging during the holiday season.
1. An Affair to Remember (1957)
Think of this as a classic for all holidays: Our main couple shares a kiss on New Year's Eve, vows to meet again in the summer and then has a big, emotional, get-out-the-tissues moment on none other than Christmas Eve. (But seriously: Get out the tissues.)
2. The Family Man (2000)
In a twist on It's a Wonderful Life, The Family Man follows a businessman named Jack who gets to experience what his life would be like if he had stayed with his college girlfriend instead of forging ahead with a pressure-filled career. It's the type of movie that makes us look back on all of our life choices and past relationships.
3. Edward Scissor-hands (1990)
Granted, this is more of a monster movie than a holiday movie or a typical rom-com. (But who, exactly, are the monsters?) But beneath the monstrous veneer, there is a love story and it's worth it for the scene of Kim dancing in the Edward-created snow alone.
The Grinch Way of Spending the Holidays Season
By Mimi
If you’ve read the articles of mine, you might have guessed that I always have something to complain about. While I’m trying to work on my ‘positivity,’ this merry season never fails to put me in the Grinch mode yet again.
As the whole December(even November!) is filled with the jolliness, I also have to be engaged in some festive stuff to hold my social life together. Here lies the list of the activities I do with my fellow grinches.
1. Painting Rocks
I know it sounds a little random, but it’s pretty fun and holiday-ish. They do sell kits for this, but you can just gather some pebbles around your home and use cheap acrylic paint to make silly colored rocks. This could count as creating your own ornaments, except for that… well, they’re rocks. It gets better when you try to think of what the rocks look like and paint it that way. I have made guinea pig pebbles and thief sack. (You can paint the sack red and then it’s Santa)
2. Decorating Ginger Bread Man
Some classics are just irresistible. While this is a pretty cliche winter activity, there’s just something deeply enjoyable to it. You can portray each other with your friends or play ‘Guess this celebrity’ with the human-shaped ginger bread. I once tried to make the Grim Reaper from the Sims, and learned a valuable lesson that too much of icings ruin the taste. So I recommend you make something that’s not covered in rags!
3. Potato Soup
It’s more of an inside joke. There was a time I made potato soup that turned almost like a porridge. Me and my roommates of that time gathered around shivering from poor heating, had bad potato porridge-soup, and played definitely-not-tuned guitar with old strings like some poor Irish farmers. I got better at it now and know how to make it a ‘soup,’ but it is a good memory so why not celebrate it? Sadly I lost connections to those good ones, but I always think of that time whenever I make potato soup in winter.
Special Skin Care Routine for Delightful Holiday Season

Happy Holidays, everyone!
The weather is getting colder, and I can feel the holiday season approaching! I’m so excited to spend time with family and friends. This time of year, I love taking things slow and focusing on feeling calm and cozy. I want to share my simple winter skincare routine with you all today.
A month ago, my friend gifted me some products from haruharu wonder, and I’ve been loving them so much that I can’t wait to share them with my mom and sisters this holiday season! They’ve been perfect for my sensitive, dry skin, especially with the colder weather, and I know they’ll love how they make their skin feel too.
Here’s my skincare routine:
1. haruharu wonder Black Rice Hyaluronic Toner: I start with this toner to hydrate my skin and get it ready for the rest of my routine. It's gentle and perfect for my sensitive skin.
2. haruharu wonder Black Rice Probiotics Barrier Essence: This essence helps repair and protect my skin from the harsh winter air. It’s great for calming redness and giving my skin an even tone.
3. haruharu wonder Centella 4% TXA Dark Spot Go Away Serum: I use this serum to help reduce dark spots and even out my complexion. It’s perfect for brightening up my skin, especially as the winter months can leave my skin looking a little dull.
4. haruharu wonder Centella Phyto & 5 Peptide Concentrate Cream: The final step is this nourishing cream. It leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth without being greasy, which is so important for my dry skin.
These products have made such a difference for me that I’m excited to gift them to the important women in my life this holiday season. I know my mom and sisters will love them just as much as I do!
Wishing you all a cozy, joyful holiday season filled with love, relaxation, and great skincare!
A Small Gift Guide for Secretly Skincare-loving Boyfriends And Friends
By Lily
As an expat, for me the Holidays are all about comfort and connection.
Usually, I spend it surrounded by my "chosen family" of close friends who have become my support system away from home. Together, we enjoy a feast of my favorite dishes from home—foods that bring back childhood memories and fill the heart. These moments make the holidays truly special for me!
There's also another side to the Holiday Season that everyone loves - receiving gifts!
When it comes to gift giving, one of my go-to ideas is always centered around skincare. I think gifting skincare is a great chance to show the people whom you love that you care about them and that they deserve some time to unwind and relax at the end of a busy day.
Since it's cold and windy - I really think that you cannot survive winter without a good moisturizer. My absolute favourite is haruharu wonder Centella Phyto & 5 peptide cream. It's perfect both in the morning and evening, and it has just the right consistency to moisturize without feeling heavy. The packaging as well is honestly so cute, with a refillable pod that you can change once you finish your cream. It's not only gimmicky - but eco friendly as well, making it the perfect versatile gift for that friend that you never-know-what-to-gift to!
And what about that stubborn boyfriend that always does skincare only when he's staying over at your place? Maybe having his own haruharu products for double cleansing will make him change his mind! Once you try the black rice cleansing oil and 5.5 cleansing gel combination you can never go back!
